What being an artist means to me in 2021.

Hello everyone and welcome to Chrome Studios. I have just added this blog page to the website and I hope to have many other artists and writers talking about their craft on this page, but for now it is just me. For the first blog, I decided to write a bit about how I think life for artists is in this day and age. Maybe this is just from my view but if you feel similar leave a comment on what being an artist today means to you.

Nowadays, it’s so easy to just give up on your dreams and find a more comfortable and easier path but for some this isn’t enough. Chrome Studios tries to collaborate with artists who don’t settle for this. People who swim upstream, who don’t go with the current. This for some is an essential part of living and creating.

When you’re an artist, life seems like a complex puzzle where the parts don’t quite fit together. Even when you feel that you are making traction, no matter who or where you are in the process, there are constantly going to be more and more hurdles. The key is to realise this and never let one of those hurdles make you fall. You can trip a few times but never fall and give up. Never. Anyone who is a successful artist in any form got there for many reasons but the most important of those reasons is that they never gave up. They never gave in to what their parents were telling them and what society wanted for them. So in short, if you want to get to that level, you need to follow that. Never give up.

We all know as artists that frequently our lives fall apart and it feels like there’s no way of achieving our artistic goals, but you have to realise that this is part of the process. Life has its ups and downs but if you choose a not so easy route in life (being an artist), you simply will have to understand that with this choice brings more ups and more downs. Where there is a Ying there is a Yang. This is a hard process but the fact that you can do something you love for the rest of your life, you gotta be willing to pay the price for it. The price is hard work and determination. See it and you can be it. Visualise yourself achieving your goals and every day hack away at it.

Slow down and enjoy your process. Find comfort in where you are right now. It’s okay, you will get there one day no matter what. You gotta enjoy life on a consistent basis to live a happy one. Nothing you will achieve will bring you happiness. You gotta figure a way out where you can enjoy the now.
